You are invited to dinner and a discussion! We will view and discuss a pre-recorded presentation by Lydia X.Z. Brown of TASH New England, chairperson of the Massachusetts Development Disability Council, and board member of the Autism Women’s Network.
Lydia Brown (pronouns: they/them) is a strong advocate for Disability Justice with an intersectional focus on transgender communities, communities of color, and LGBQ communities. In their talk, Lydia explores health inequities faced by disabled people, including being forced into institutions, facing increased risk of violence/attach, and being denied choice and decision-making in ways that deeply impact their health. In addition to illuminating inequities, Lydia presents a new model for thinking about disability.
