CCAHEC’s Darlyn Miller to Recieve the 2019 Founders Award from Peer Assistance Services
The Founders Award was created in 1999 in honor of those who founded this agency, to recognize individuals, foundations, corporations, community organizations and others who have made outstanding contributions that further the mission of Peer Assistance Services (PAS).
Darlyn Miller, RN, BSN, CCM, a public health nurse, works as a Regional Health Connector at theCentral Colorado Area Health Education Center serving Teller and El Paso counties. The Regional Health Connector program is a joint project funded and developed by the Colorado State Innovation Model Office, EvidenceNOW Southwest, the Colorado Health Institute, and the Trailhead Institute. The program promotes projects that support the integration of behavioral and physical health. Darlyn has completed the screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment (SBIRT) training of trainers workshop and works closely with PAS to promote screening in primary care practices. Darlyn has promoted SBIRT in schools and community organizations. She has worked tirelessly to organize multiple trainings for health professionals and, in particular,Motivational Interviewing to Address Social Determinants of Health. Darlyn is currently pursuing her psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner degree at the University of Colorado. Darlyn is passionate about her work in the community and it is our privilege to work with her.
